When your finances are complicated, it’s important to have your tax return prepared by a skilled professional who can take the time to do things right. We serve clients with similar issues to yours every day, so you’ll know you’re in experienced hands.
S Corporations and LLCs
Our major specialty is tax preparation and planning for Subchapter S corporations and limited liability companies. In fact Steve, the firm’s founding CPA, taught the class Choice of Entity: S Corporations and Limited Liability Companies during his stint as an adjunct professor for Golden Gate University’s masters in tax program. Our firm also maintains two informational websites on this topic, S Corporations Explained and LLCs Explained. So don’t hesitate to contact us if you have an LLC or S corporation and need tax help from an expert.
Multi-State and Foreign Source Income
We have particular experience working with small businesses that have multi-state or international aspects to their tax situation. We also have significant experience in dealing with the complexity introduced to U.S. taxpayers who have foreign sources of income, own foreign bank accounts, and even work for supranational entities (such as the UN or the IMF).
Complex Employee Compensation
We specialize in catering to individuals with complex compensation packages. Perhaps not surprising given our location in Redmond, we do a large volume of work related to employee stock options and grants, restricted stock options, and similar equity-based compensation of the type common to the tech industry.
Our collective experience ranges widely over a number of different industries, including (but certainly not limited to): tech (including digital goods and e-commerce businesses), construction, manufacturing, retail, professional service businesses, and real estate activities.
Pricing and Contact Information
Prices vary widely–because client requirements vary widely.
Once we have an idea of the scope and complexity of the work involved, we’ll be able to give you a solid estimate on price.
However, that said, know that our tax preparation fees resemble those charged by other CPA firms. If you’ve been working with another CPA firm, therefore, our fees should seem very much in line with what you’ve paid in the past.
For example, our fees for straightforward individual tax returns start at $500, but will be higher if a taxpayer’s finances are complicated by significant investment activity appearing on Schedule D and Form 8949, nonresident tax returns, a multi-state footprint, international income items, investment partnership K-1s with lots of interesting income and deduction items, and significant real estate investments.
Fees for most single state business returns with only an owner or two run $1,000 to $2,000. Note, though, that prices can rise for larger firms operating in multiple states or internationally.
